My friends and I will be taking part in the Monte Carlo or Bust rally in order to raise money to buy life saving equipment for use in the Neuro wards of Sheffield's NHS Hospital.
We will be paying for all the expenses for the trip, therefore 100% of the donations will go directly to the cause.
During 2010 I was the victim of an unprovoked attack in Doncaster town centre whilst on a night out with my friends. I had the 2nd largest skull fracture to survive in the North of England and was diagnosed with a sub-dermal haematoma. The pressure within my skull was raising at an alarming rate and I was rushed to the Sheffield Neurology Ward. Two other people within South Yorkshire had similar injuries in the same week as myself and sadly both died.
If it was not for the quick response of NHS and the amazing dedication of the staff at both Doncaster Royal Infirmary and Sheffield Neurology Ward, I would have died too. The Sheffield Neurology Ward provided me with the very best treatment and support. My family and I struggle to show our massive appreciation for the emergency-care and aftercare I received from both the A&E and neurological teams.
Please help make a difference to the next person needing urgent neurological treatment and please donate as much as you can to the cause.
