I'll be taking to the skies of York, in aid of the Wetwheels Yorkshire Foundation.
I will be singing my heart out to the tune of "I Will Survive" (quite apt really) whilst flying in an aerobatics plane. Now is probably a good time to say I am terrified of heights so I'm not quite sure how I've ended up agreeing to this.
Those who know me will know I am always willing to push myself to raise money for worthy causes and Wetwheels is certainly that. They are fundraising to build a specially adapted boat for the Yorkshire region which will allow passengers with disabilities to take part in crewing and get out on the open seas. Wetwheels are able to provide educational trips which not only develop key life skills but also provide much needed independence to those who have a disability.
Hearing about the fantastic work Wetwheels do made me determined to support them in some way, so when Pete from the foundation came to see me with a crazy idea, I signed up before even realising what that idea was. Now I'll be taking to the skies and having my life (and my stomach!) turned upside down.
Of course my flight will be recorded so everyone who sponsors me can have the pleasure of watching me squirm and scream my way through the many verses and choruses of this classic song.
Thank you so much for all your support!
