Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
After taking part in the 10k Winter run I managed to get talked into entering the ballot for the Royal Parks half marathon. Many of my running friends had already entered. I was very apprehensive but according to my friends it's really hard to get a place ! You've guessed it, they didn't get a place and I did ! I wish I was thrilled but I was in shock, I should have been pleased but initially I wasn't. How could I possibly run 21k (13 miles) when I found 10k (6 miles) difficult !
My sister was the one who talked me into going through with it. She said I must do it because I can and you never know what's around the corner.
My wonderful sister and best friend Ellie (Helen) who was always so busy and full of life is now a shadow of her former self. She looks like Ellie and sounds like her.... but she isn't like Ellie used to be, she's exhausted and poorly more often than not. She was diagnosed with M.E a couple of years ago !
I have many charities close to home that I wanted to run for .... Diabetes, for my husband, the Heart foundation for his brother, Alzheimer's for his father or C.O.P.D for my dad. So many worth while charities but in the end I realised that these charities were all well recognised and supported. M.E, being an illness that is unseen but so debilitating still seems to lack the support and understanding that is needed.
So please help by supporting me in my run and my chosen charity and make life a little more liveable for those suffering with M.E.as "you never know what's around the corner"
Thank you x
