We fund bone cancer research & grant wishes to seriously ill people #makingmemories

Story

So...I think I must have had a crazy moment and I have signed myself and poor Banjo up to take part in the Wobbleberry Challenge...! (Yes this means the show ring may have to take a back seat for a while!)

The Wobbleberries are a group of over 25, "wimpy" riders who aim to compete at a BE80 by Autumn 2017, all to raise money for the wonderful Willberry Wonder Pony - inspired by Hannah Francis.

For my friends and family who are not familiar with "horsey terminology" a BE80 is a one day event (ODE) where we will do a dressage test, a round of show jumping (SJ) @ 80cm height and a cross country (XC) round @ 80cm. This is a very challenging task and takes months of training, preparation and a high level of horse and rider fitness.

The Willberry Wonder Pony charity aims to support vital research into osteosarcoma and to grant equine related wishes to seriously ill people and their families.

So having not jumped competitively since my pony club days and having had a 'special' horse for four years who won't entertain jumping over fences (I still love him to death) it's safe to say this will be a huge challenge. Not only for myself but also for my pony Banjo who at 5 years old has yet to experience much of life.

I'm sure you can all appreciate the amount of training that will need to go into this if I am to complete the challenge. Not to mention the levels of fitness which me and Banjo both must have to compete in such an event. All training will be self funded and along with having a full time job and 3 other ponies may be occurring at all unsociable hours under the sun....(byeeeee tiny social life)

I think my biggest challenge will be overcoming nerves and if it wasn't for this challenge which is raising money for such a good cause I wouldn't have in my wildest dreams ever thought of doing something like this.

Please support this wonderful charity. Every donation is appreciated no matter how small and every penny is motivation to me!

Thank you...
