Story
As many of you will know in December 2017 I was involved in an accident where I sustained life changing injury’s. I suffered many spinal fractures as well as a broken pelvis, broken leg, two dislocated knees, broken arm and dislocated elbow. My recovery has been long and I still have a way to go, however I have been extremely lucky and with a lot of hard work I have regained the use of both my legs, although things will never be the same and I’ll always walk like a penguin, I am able to walk, something I am so thankful for. During my recovery I have met many people who’s recovery has been much more complicated and the outcome of their injuries is paralysis. Their bravery and determination has been inspiring. I want to give something back! I am setting myself this challenge to push myself. I may swim in circles at times if my right leg gives up, but I will complete this challenge and I will keep this page updated with progress.
Please donate what you can, every penny count.
Thank you :)
I'm taking on the Aspire Channel Swim 2019, swimming the distance of the English Channel over 12 weeks to raise money for Aspire. Every four hours someone is paralysed by Spinal Cord Injury and Aspire provides the essential equipment, advice and housing that spinal cord injured people need to live their lives independently. This is a big challenge, but the more I raise, the more of a difference I'll make.
