Story
As most of you know we received a pre-natal diagnosis that Luc would have Down Syndrome. We had a few roller coaster months but we have learned a lot since then! We learned that the support of our family & friends is more than we could have ever imagined. We’ve learned that just because the journey we had envisioned has changed doesn’t mean we have to be disheartened. We’ve learned that just because Luc might be a little slower than his friends to do things, that doesn't mean that he can’t.
The biggest surprise has been the love and support that we have received from those who were once complete strangers and now are our second family. The local Down syndrome community has been so vital to our journey and I’m not sure what we would have done without them.
That’s why we want to with your help raise money & awareness for our local charity! The 21st of March is World Down Syndrome Day & we’d like to raise £1000 to help with all the amazing work that they do including outreach to new parents like us, speech & language classes for our kiddos, education & outreach for medical professionals and others in the local community as well as various events through the year for the families of children with Down Syndrome.
You can find out more about them at www.21andco.co.uk
There are also a lot of other Awareness initiatives going on for World Down Syndrome day. If you’re interested you can find out more at https://worlddownsyndromeday.org
