We fund people, projects and charities to change young lives in the UK

Story

Some driving instructors in Andover have joined forces and are trying to raise as much money as possible and then donate it to the BLR and the BBC Children in Need. All money raised and donated will go towards helping to change the lives of around half a million disadvantaged children and young people in the UK every single year. Please show your support for this great cause.

To show our support, we are taking part in a fund-raising event called the Big Learner Relay (BLR). All donations raised by us will be going to the BLR who in turn donate it to the BBC Children in Need charity with whom they're officially associated with.

The concept of the BLR is to create a convoy of learner drivers that travel a pre-set route around England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales. Can you imagine it (oh no, not a convoy of learner drivers we hear you say). Don't worry, it's a very well organised event and months and months go into the planning of this great event.

In brief, the organisers of the BLR contact a local driving instructor and ask them to drum up a team of instructors each with a learner driver and then travel in convoy from their location onto the next location carrying a "Pudsey Bear" roof top box (the Pudsey Bear is the official BBC Children in Need mascot). This year, we are travelling from Thruxton Race Circuit to Salisbury.

The Pudsey roof top box is then handed over to the next waiting group of driving instructors and learner drivers where they will then carry on the convoy procession to the next designated hand-over location, and so on and so on all the way across the United Kingdom.

So, if you see a driving school car with lots of spot over it, then it's taking part in this great event. Please do come over and sign a spot and make a small donation. All donations will then be counted and given to the BLR who in turn will give it to the BBC Children in Need.

Please donate anything you can by using this page too, even if it's one pound. Remember, every single penny will be going to helping disadvantaged children and young people in the UK.

You can also donate by sending a text message, it's quick and very simple. Here's how to do it:

To donate, just simply text TBLR94 with the amount £5 to 70070 so it would look like this:
TBLR94 £5
