Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I'll be walking the London2Brighton Challenge on 26-27th May 2018. It's a continuous walk and I set off around 9AM on the Saturday, finishing (hopefully) sometime on Sunday morning.

As some of you may be aware my Mother suffered from Dementia and it undoubtedly contributed to her death in March of 2017.  I hadn't seen the effects of it in such close quarters before and it brought home the debilitating nature of a progressive illness that is hard to confirm in it's earlier stages. My mother was a keen walker and in better times would walk miles every day in spite of her visual impairments. I wanted to do something in her memory and it feels fitting to do this walk.

It'll be a real challenge as the 100km is pretty much nonstop ( a few rest breaks) and we'll walk through the night. 100km is just over 62 miles so it's 2 and a bit marathons.

Writing that makes me shudder, but if you're going to do it, then do it big!
My running days are long gone, but I think (hope) I can train up to this level at the age of 57 and I prefer walking anyway.

I would really appreciate your support and Alzheimers is a charity that I suspect all of us will become more aware of in the coming years.

I'm already in training, so will post updates over the coming months. There will be an online tracker on the day so you can follow my progress.
