Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page and for your donations.
I am pleased to say that on the 23rd June 2012, I completed my second 46-mile Pathfinder March in order to raise money for the Great Fen. The course goes round the 4 airbases of the WWII Pathfinder force in Cambridgeshire and must be completed in 20 hours. I completed it in 13 hours and 59 minutes - beating last year's time by 51 minutes. I'm a volunteer for The Great Fen, which is working to create one of the largest wetland nature reserves in the UK (check it out at www.greatfen.org.uk) and all monies raised will go to the Wildlife Trust for Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire & Northamptonshire (registered charity no. 1000412) and then onto the The Great Fen. In particular I'd like to raise money for information boards for their new bird hides, which are needed to help the public identify the birds they've seen.
The Great Fen will provide varied landscapes and habitats, increasing biodiversity and providing a haven for wildlife. It will also create a massive green space for people, opening new opportunities for recreation, education and business with access via footpaths, cycle paths and waterways.
So it's good for wildlife, the environment and the local community.
