On 4th August 2019 I will be cycling 100 miles to raise much needed funds for Notts and Yorkshire Boxer Rescue.
After losing our beloved Boxer Tango in 2014 we decided we would like another Boxer. In January 2015 we fostered the wonderful Louie. He was a lovely old boy and we had the pleasure of his company until he passed away in March 2016.
In September 2016 we were given the opportunity to foster Lennox, another older dog. He was very underweight when we collected him, due to not coping with living in kennels very well. Within a few weeks of being with us he had put on weight and wss no longer a bag of bones.
Almost 3 years later, Lennox who we have since adopted, is 11 years old and although he has slowed down a bit, he is still enjoying life to the full.
A lot older dogs come into the rescue and they may not be as healthy as they could be, but still deserve a loving home rather than a space in a kennel block.
NAYBR have to raise funds for these dogs and pick up the vet and food bills whilst the fosterer provides the love and home environment.
