We're regular entrants for the Dundee Cyclathon that this year is on September 14. It's a 26 mile event that runs roughly around the perimeter of the city on mixed tracks and road. We always raise money for the World Land Trust that basically converts donations into land that's safe from destruction by developers. It used to concentrate only on rain forests but now it saves any vulnerable areas such as coastal swamp or endangered grasslands.
This year we're trying something new, with the Oban Sportive (http://www.obansportive.co.uk/index.htm). This is a more serious cycling event, with two options, 52 or 84 miles in the hilly roads near Oban on the west coast of Scotland. We've never cycled further than 35 miles so it will be a real challenge for us - we've picked the 52 mile option, just in case!
