Story
Hello People!
I'm back running! This time I'm doing the Coventry Lady Godiva Half Marathon in October for Buwan Kothi International Trust. BKIT is a London/Leamington Spa based charity which raises funds for development projects in the village of Buwan Kothi in Haryana, India. BKIT's main project is the Gilly Mundy Memorial Institute which aims to construct a primary school, resource centre, secondary school, nursery unit and hostel accommodation for the people of Buwan Kothi. Construction of the primary school was completed in March 2008 (see photo for the first intake of children into the Gilly Mundy Memorial Community School) and they are now raising money in order to complete the remaining tasks.
BKIT's work was given greater impetus by the sudden death of one of its co-founders, the anti-racist campaigner and activist from Leamington Spa, Gilly Mundy in March 2007, aged only 36. Please visit www.buwankothi.org.uk for more information on BKIT.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me as Buwan Kothi International Trust gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation. Any amount that you can donate will make a difference, but please try to give generously!
If you are around Coventry on Sunday 19th October feel free to come along and watch me try to haul my lazy arse across the finish line and join in with a few well deserved pints afterwards!
Cheers!
