My dad has been diagnosed with some pretty serious illnesses and has been going to the daycare unit for some time now. Havens not only care and provide a happy environment for their patients but they also support the families by offering councilling, complementary treatments and respite.

The encouragement and strength they have provided my family have exceeded my expectations.  I am comforted in the knowledge that he is pampered and happy when he is there.

I never knew hospice care would be like this. He has a laugh with the nurses, the best beef stew he's ever had (thanks Dad) and a new found enjoyment for life.  I want to give something back and show my gratitude by raising as much money as I can. 

The thought of doing this terrifies me, especially as John wants to pack my parachute!   I wanted to do something way out of my comfort zone.  The alternative would be to shave my head but my Jess Glynne tribute bookings would dry up!

You never pay attention to organisations like this until they are needed and when you do, you realise how amazing and valuable they are x
