In a few hours I will start the climb to the top of Kilimanjaro as part of a RSM female leadership program for which I was selected. http://blog.rsm.nl/kilimanjaro/meet-our-climbers/
I realize I'm blessed with all the development opportunities that were given to me in life and I truly believe with privilege comes responsibility to share your gifts and blessings.
The excitement of climbing this mountain is overshadowed by the news on the Syrian human disaster in which children are casualties of a gruesome senseless war. Imagine the fear and powerlessness of these children surrounded by a world not willing and not able to come to their rescue. These children deserve to be remembered. To do my part I dedicate my climb to the children of Syria.
I will use my climb to raise funds for the Children and War Foundation which develops group methods to help children adjust to the stress reactions caused by war and disasters. It provides training and simple measures to evaluate programmes. They are currently working with partners in Syria and the West Bank. Read more on http://www.childrenandwar.org/
I support this cause and I invite all of you, who support my climb, to do the same.
