We provide palliative and end of life care to people with a life-limiting illness

Story

Community Matters at Apollo Fire Detectors and as a socially responsible employer we like to give back to our local community.

We support a number of charities throughout the year that are nominated by staff each month, through numerous activities such as bake sales, sponsored events and ‘dress down days’ to name a few.  Our ‘dress down days’ take place every Friday and participating employees donate £1 to our nominated charity for the month.

Our Long Term charity for 2018 is Rowans Hospice, a charity based in Hampshire UK that helps and supports patients and those closest to them through the journey of their illness every step of the way.

As well as our usual dress down Fridays, to raise funds for the charity Apollo will be entering a team of 17 employees into the Portsmouth charity Dragon Boat Race on 13th May. In return for sponsorship for Rowans Hospice the team will race replica Chinese war canoes against other teams at the event over a course of 250 metres.
