Royal Parks Half Marathon 2011 · 9 October 2011 ·
Hi lovelies!
Thank you for opening up to this page. So. post marathon, lazy bones decided to put this half marathon in the diary to ensure that all my training didn't go down the drain. Cue 6 months on: Arti with a dodgy back and shoulder and longest run of 10miles to her name...BUT super excited all the same to be running the amazing Royal Parks Half Marathon in our beautiful city in aid of the incredible and amazing organisation that I am proud to work for - Marie Curie Cancer Care.
Research shows that 65% of people would want to die at home if they were terminally ill - yet only 18% of people are able to die at home. At Marie Curie Cancer Care, we try to make this wish a reality. We provide high quality nursing, totally free, to give people with terminal cancer and other illnesses the choice of dying at home, surrounded by their loved ones.
Our 2000+ nusese care for half of ALL cancer patients who die at home. As well as this we care for 8,000+ patients in our 9 hospices around the country.
Every £20 raised allows Marie Curie to provide 1 hour of nursing care in a patient's home. I am still hugely grateful for all your donations towards my marathon in April so anything you'd like to donate now is very gratefully received!
Much Love,
Arti
XOXO
