Story
Hello everyone
It's that time of the year again where I set out to raise funds for GBS.
This year I have chosen to not do a party instead I have chosen an event to take part in with a reason behind it.. I have chosen to do a obstacle course called Badass Mucker the reason behind this Is because I wanted to do something that my body isn't used to and pushed to the limits the reason behind this is when a GBS baby is born they come into this world and have to fight all they have to survive exactly what Jackson had to do.
If a newborn baby can come into this world fight for their life and survive then I can run an obstacle course in less than 12 weeks with little training.
Group B Streptococcus is the UK's most common cause of life-threatening infection in newborn babies and of meningitis in babies under age 3 months. On average in the UK, at least-two babies a day develop a group B Strep infection -one baby a week dies from their GBS infection, and-one baby a week survives with long-term disabilities – physical, mental or both.Yet most group B Strep infections are preventable. Group B Strep Support informs families & health professionals about group B Strep to save tiny lives.
Together we will get the UK to offer this as a standardised test to all pregnant women.
Why guess when you can test??
