Story

Scottish biker Gordon Cruden is hitting the roads of Australia for a major, month-long fundraising challenge.

Gordon is currently tackling the Australian Motorbike Challenge, circumnavigating the country over the course of 30 days.

The initiative will see Gordon clock up around 12,000 miles on a Harley Davidson in order to raise funds for Teen Challenge’s ‘Buy Benaiah’ campaign; a five-year fundraising drive to raise the £535,000/AUS$898,700 required to buy women’s addiction recovery home, Benaiah, in the North East of Scotland.

The facility – which allows mothers to continue living with their children while they complete the faith-based recovery programme, Teen Challenge – is currently rented.

However, the purchase of the property would mean the centre could continue to provide females with residential support on a permanent basis and, ultimately, help many more women break free from the horrors of addiction to live clean, free lives.

The Australian Motorbike Challenge is the final fundraising initiative of the Buy Benaiah campaign, with the organisation aiming to use the challenge to raise the remaining funds to purchase the recovery home.
