Story
Hello,
Thank you for taking the time to visit my little page.
This year I will be taking part in two Ironman events in order to raise money and awareness for a fantastic charity called Baby Lifeline.
On Sunday May 3rd, I will be participating in Ironman Australia in Port Macquarie, then on Sunday September 20th I will be in Lake Tahoe, California competing in the Ironman event there.
For those who have not heard of Ironman, it is basically a long triathlon; comprising a 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike ride and a 26.2 mile marathon run, all to be completed within 17 hours of the start, non stop.
However, in addition to the distances, I will be battling with the heat in Australia, and possible mountain sickness in Lake Tahoe with the event taking place at over 6,000ft above sea level.
Although Baby Lifeline is a relatively small charity, the work it does is felt far and wide. From its central England base, places as far as Eastern Australia and the West Coast of America benefit from the work the charity carries out, hence my decision to choose these two locations.
I was so fortunate to receive such amazing support in my last challenge, and any donation or support you may be able to offer, no matter how small, will be most gratefully received.
