Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. In order to raise money for the fantastic work that Thembalitsha UK does I am volunteering to shave my head!! Anyone who knows me well knows how vain I am, so I am hoping that this ‘sacrifice’ will make it clear how worthy this cause is, and how important it has become to me personally – so I encourage everyone to please dig deep!

Some people have expressed a wish not to see my scalp (I can’t think why?! Ha ha) and so there has been an element of competition added to the fundraising. When making a donation on this page please add ‘DO IT’ or ‘DON’T DO IT’, or something along those lines to your message box, and whichever side has raised the most money by the time I reach the target will win. If there isn't a message in the box I'll assume it's a Pro-Bald donation. If the Bald camp wins obviously all the hair will come off and if the Anti-Bald camp wins I will have about 95% of my hair lopped off, and will save people from Matt Lucas-style nightmares :)

While I was out in with the Thembalitsha team my hair became a fascination for the girls at the kids club where we helped out, and at the preschool we visited on the last day – they had a great time messing it up and playing hairdresser, so it seems fitting somehow that my hair should be the focus of my fundraising - to help these children and their families through the projects that Thembalitsha contribute to, both financially and practically.

My fundraising target is £2000, I know this is ambitious but I want to raise as much money as possible and I dont particularly want to let anyone near me with clippers unless it's going to do a lot of good! I would like to raise this amount by the end of August so that hopefully by the time winter comes around I will have enough hair grown back to keep me from getting brain freeze :)

I know we are in a tough financial climate at the moment, but please consider carefully what you are willing or able to give. Obviously I'd like to raise as much money as possible, but I know first-hand that even a little money really does change lives and save lives out there, so please give whatever you can - no donation is too small, no amount is insignificant to them.  Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Thank You
