Story

Hi Everyone,

Ballina Gaa and the wider community of Ballina are undertaking a mammoth task of completing a 'full virtual lap of Ireland'. The total distance to complete a full lap of Ireland is 3'433km, starting and finishing in Ballina, Co.Tipperary. In doing so, we will call on all members of Ballina Gaa plus members of the wider community to help us get there and also raise €3,000 in aid of Pieta House. Donations can be made via the link on the Ballina Gaa social media platforms.

You can be of any level of fitness or any age to partake in this event. You can run, walk or cycle any distance and log it as part of the 3'433km distance. The event will kick off on Monday the 18th of May and conclude on the 14th of June, giving us a time frame of 28 days to complete the goal.

How to help Ballina GAA complete their virtual lap of Ireland in 3 easy steps:

1) Run/Walk/Cycle any distance and record it using your Fitbit, Apple Watch or other apps such as Strava or Nike Run club.

2) Post a story/status on Facebook or Instagram tagging Ballina GAA & use the hashtag (#Lap4Pieta) - Please make sure to include the distance you covered. You can also send a picture of you and your distance to Ballina GAA's private mailbox on Facebook or Instagram.

3) Donate via the link which can be found on Ballina GAA's Facebook, Instagram & Twitter account.

There will be daily updates of the total distance covered through the Ballina Gaa social media platforms.

There will also be spot prizes for Juveniles and we will track distances covered in the following categories:

Juvenile (Under 17)

Senior (18-64)

Master (65+)

**Please adhere to HSE guidelines and restrictions anytime you are exercising.

We look forward to the enjoyable challenge ahead,

Kind Regards,

Ballina GAA.
