We raise life-changing funds to enhance care at UHS

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Southampton Hospital has one of the best Children's Cardiac units and Pediatric Intensive Care Units in the country and the team there are literally saving lives every day.

The support they have given to my Grandson Jack and his mummy Maria, is fantastic and we would like to raise money to help them continue the good work. At 5 months old Jack has already had 5 open heart surgeries, with more to come, and complications from poor blood flow and has spent most of his life so far in Southampton Hospital.

Jack has a condition called Tricuspid Atresia with Ventricular Septal Defect. This is a complex condition bur put very simply..........In Triscupid Atresia blood can't flow from the right atrium to the right ventricle because the valve between them is missing. A ventricular septal defect is a birth defect of the heart in which there is a hole in the wall (septum) that separates the two lower chambers (ventricles) of the heart. This wall also is called the ventricular septum. Jack has a single ventricle.

With the support of my colleagues from Basepoint Business Centres and JLR Services we will be riding 10 miles through the new forest on 31st August so please give generously to spur us on our way!

Thank you
