Unfortunately due to Covid-19 the Big Battlefield Bike Ride 2021 has had to be postponed.  However I will now be taking part in this ride in 2022 so all fundraising that has been done so far will transfer over to the 2022 ride.

Imagine your life changing overnight. Suddenly, the world you knew is not accessible. You must start from scratch, all over again.

This is happening right now.  Every day, seven people leave the Armed Forces with life changing injuries. Many struggle, meaning they and their families need specialist help to aid recovery from wounds both visible and hidden. 

Your donation allows Help for Heroes to continue providing vital support, now and in the future.

I was medically discharged from the RAF many years ago with mental scars that changed my life and not for the better!  Through the support of various charities including Help for Heroes I have been able to take up a new sport, compete at the Invictus Games and see my overall life
improve and not just mine but my whole family!!  

As a beneficiary & ambassador for Help for Heroes I have received the support across many services they offer.  I suffer with PTSD, Depression and anxiety due to my service and being medically discharged in 2004. Many times I have hit an all time low and just wanted it to finish, to be over the pain and misery of my hidden wounds and I have attempted suicide due to this.

Help for Heroes services including services such as their hidden wounds team have been there to offer psychological support.  They have also been their to help fund a new sport of archery and get me to the Invictus Games in 2017 where I come away with a gold medal.

I always need something to focus on, the next challenge this helps keep the demons at bay and when I set my sights on something I want to get there and that leads me onto this big challenge for me.

The Big Battlefield bike ride 2021 - The Somme taking place between 6th - 12th June 2021.  This involves cycling approx. 350 miles across the British sector of the Western Front of the Great War. The itinerary is as follows.

Day 1: Dover - Ostend

Day 2: Nieuwpoort - Ypres

Day 3: Ypres - Arras

Day 4: Arras - Amiens

Day 5: Amiens - St Quentin

Day 6: St Quentin - Compiegne

As someone who hasn't been a cyclist I have now started my training for this and very focused to get there.

I need to raise £1300 by March 2021 this is mandatory  and the remaining balance by September 2021.

Any help you can give will be greatly appreciated.
