Those of you who may not have known Ruth please , please take a moment to visit Ruth's page and read her story.

So with Ruth and her family in mind and under the influence of alcohol (of course because why else would I have agreed to it) Mum & I signed up to be part of the Pancreatic Cancer UK team in the Brighton Marathon on 15th April 2018. Yep! the full 26..

Ruth took part in many Marathons as well as other running events, even throughout her illness and in between treatments Ruth showed great determination to keep active by cycling whenever she could and in particular completing a 50 mile bike ride in the Spanish heat... Me on the other hand could barely keep up when she suggested we all hire bikes and cycle sedately through the park in Valencia (a memory I will treasure).

Mum & I both hope you will show your support (when you've got over the shock and stopped laughing) as we will need all the encouragement we can get, as you know we are not athletes by any stretch of the imagination but our greatest inspiration is Ruth. 

I will always be grateful for Ruth's friendship and support, she was always encouraging and never judgemental and I want to thank you my beautiful friend for pushing me out of my comfort zone to take part in this event.

Message to Ruth if your watching...I just hope I do you proud and don't let you down xx
