I could go on for a while about all the things I have seen, but essentially people can be rubbish to one another and this leaves some unable to reach out and feel safe.

This charity I have chosen for its aim to protect all lives from abuse old or young, male or female. To listen and help, if you are suffering from violent physical abuse, mental abuse down to the subtlest forms of control that no one should be subjected to in their home or by those they trust.

I have chosen to shave my head for many reasons three main ones being:

(the deep thinking one) That ending up in an abusive situation can sneak up on you and like letting your hair grow, one day you find yourself surrounded in a tangled mess with no way out.

Two, being abused can strip people of their identity and if anyone knows me my hair is a massive part of who I am, so it seems apt to remove it to raise money. Also hopefully a chance to become a stronger person by living without my security blanket for a while.

The third is simply that I know most of you and if not moved by an emotional connection to this charity, will at least pay to see me with a tiny pink bald pea head.
