This year, I am fortunate to have been selected by my school to go and volunteer in Zambia for just over two weeks, I’ll be  alongside the charity Sports in Action.

During my time there I will be working  in three different schools in Lusaka, which has one of the  highest levels of deprivation and economic hardship. I’ll be working with the charity Sport in Action, a non-governmental organisation which aims to enrich the lives of young people and promote social messages through sport and physical activity. In my time there I’ll be leading children in physical activies, helping to enhance their communication and teamwork as well as empowering young girls who face huge discrimination everyday because of  their gender and also further  creating awareness Of HIV/AIDS, which  last year resulted in 21,000 deaths.

I want to raise £1500 that can be used  to help create a safe environment where the students can be care free whilst playing sports and gaining an education. It’s a small amount of money that could make a huge difference  to their lives.

I play sports three times a week and take for granted the safe and incredible facilitices that are available to me. I strongly believe all children should have the chance to play sport and enjoy the comradery of being with your friends kicking a ball around.

Throughout the next couple of months I will do numerous fundraising ventures like bake sales, clothes sales and charity sport events . I will keep you up to date with what I am doing with pictures. Any donation will be hugely appreciated !
