Story
First of all, thanks for taking the time to visit my page! I am running the London Marathon for the charity Shine, a charity that supports people born with spina bifida. Spina bifida literally means 'split spine' and is a fault in the development of the spinal cord and surrounding vertabrae. The spinal cord has not formed properly and, in some cases, may also be damaged.
A lot of people know that I have wanted to run the London Marathon for some time now but not a lot of people know that I became a father for the first time this year and my son was born with a form of spina bifida. I personally didn't know much about what spina bifida was at the time of diagnosis but I have learnt a lot about this during the last few difficult months. I am thankful every day that my son seems to be getting stronger and the spina bifida doesn't seem to be having too much of an impact but there are so many forms of this and some others are not as lucky. I would like to do anything I can to raise awareness of spina bifida and highlight the great work that Shine do on a daily basis.
Please donate what you can to such a worthwhile cause and I promise I will do everything I can to run a strong London Marathon!
