We campaign to protect maternity services to improve maternity care across the UK

Story

The National Maternity Support Foundation (also known as Jake's Charity) was founded by my Aunt and Uncle, Rachel and Andrew Canter, after the stillbirth of their eldest son Jake Canter in October 2005.

They have since tirelessly campaigned to keep maternity services available, accessible, safe and well resourced to ensure others don't have to experience the tragic consequences of maternity units closing due to lack of funding and staff.

For more information on the charity's background, patrons, news and activities, please see www.jakescharity.org

About the charity

National Maternity Support Foundation (NMSF) is also known as Jake's Charity. It was set up following the tragic stillbirth of Jake Canter due to the nearest hospital maternity unit being closed. NMSF strives to improve maternity services keeping them available, accessible, safe and well resourced.
