Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

This coming summer I am embarking on the huge challenge of climbing to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa, to raise money for the Children's Society. This amazing charity works with neglected and disadvantaged children in England and Wales who have often had very troubled starts to their lives.

Last year they worked directly with over 34,000 children, and supported over 1.8 million. One such case is Jenny, who was violently abused for over 5 years by her step mum and turned to self harming, drugs and alcohol as an escape mechanism. Fortunately, she came into contact with The Children's Society, who put her up in emergency accommodation, provided her with a counsellor and ensured she would never be put in that situation again. She is now studying at college and is in a much better place. By donating, you can ensure that as many children as possible can benefit from the Children's Society's extraordinary work. It doesn't matter how big or small the donation is, everything helps, £15 could pay for 4 hot meals for neglected children, whilst £75 could pay for ongoing support whilst a child tries to turn their life around.

This will be a huge task for me, but I know it will be worth it if the Children's Society can benefit in any way. Thank you in advance.
