As you know, the human body is a machine which requires you to take care of it, whether it be by nutrition, exercise or safe living conditions. When the basics don't work, we will take a trip to the GP / hospital to help fix those ailments through their education and experiences.

Mental health is no different, although it can't always be seen. It hasn't always been heard. At times it has been ignored. There hasn't always been someone to help fix these ailments as there have not been enough educated or experienced individuals to do so.

Whilst the body may be the machine that allows you to perform everyday tasks, it is the mind which is the inner-voice that instructs the body to perform these tasks. A mind struggling with mental health may not have a positive inner-voice - the effect being that the body may not function day-to-day. It may even harm itself.

In order to combat poor mental health, Mind is endeavouring to provide the necessary education, together with an approachable service to allow individuals to speak about their mental health. They treat every individual as just that, an individual, understanding their mental health and the many factors which could have led to this state of mental health. They also let them know that they are not alone.

It is for this reason that I, together with a fantastic team of Quantumees, will be jumping out of a plane with someone I don't know and will only meet that day. I am putting my total trust in a complete stranger to get me from a place where, if I was on my own, I probably wouldn't make it. Sound familiar?

We all know someone who is either going on, or has been on, this journey. Someone who feels like they are up in the sky, with no tandem and no parachute. Lets continue supporting the charity which is providing the tandem and the parachute. Lets continue supporting Mind.
