Thanks for taking the time to visit my sisters JustGiving page.
On 31st March 2019, my sister was riding pillion on a motorbike with her partner in the Driffield area, where sadly, they were involved in a devastating and life changing road traffic collision. Tragically, Steve passed away at the scene and my sister was found unconscious. The Great North Air Ambulance arrived within minutes of the accident and they very quickly sedated her and air lifted her to the nearest major trauma unit in Teesside.
My brave sister fought hard for a week but was in a very deep coma, and after suffering serious injuries to her head, her battle came to an end the following Sunday, 7th April.
The GNAA kept in frequent contact with the hospital the entire time to check Lee-Annes progress, and as a family we are forever grateful to them and to the wonderful hospital staff at Teesside ICU for doing everything in their power to try to save my sisters life.
Lee-Anne, loved by many, would appreciate any kind donations towards this incredible cause. The Air Ambulance plays a vital role saving lives across the country and need to raise around £12,000 per day to keep both the Air Ambulance’s helicopters maintained and in the air and as a family we are very grateful to have had them there when Lee-Anne needed them most.
