We support people living with brain injury to give them the best quality of life

Story

To soften the blow on turning the big 3-0, I thought it'd be a good idea to engage in something that will help distract from the looming Birthday.

Take my mind off the fact that I can no longer hack more than 2 nights out in a row...

And do something I (mum) can be proud of. Hi Mum 🙋

I've decided to run (slow jog) the London Marathon!

We'll see if that still feels like a good idea when I'm dragging myself out of bed to pound the pavements on an icy January morning...

But in the meantime I'm full of enthusiasm! As a natural born runner, and with the athletic build of Paula I'm not so worried about the physical challenge...

😳

What I'd really REALLY like to do, is raise a shed load of cash for The Royal Hospital of Neuro- Disability.

For those unaware, this is an incredible place in Putney doing amazing things to help improve the quality of life for patients with severe brain injury.

Check them out: rhn.org.uk

I've been fortunate enough to see the work they do first hand and want to spread awareness of the importance of their art, occupational and music therapies and care to the lives of their patients.

Whether it's supporting people through the early stages of rehabilitation after an accident or long term care following a stroke, the staff are dedicated to identifying and encouraging the small signs of progress.

Often this might be a sound, sometimes there may be a smile, and every now and then they'll be a patient rediscovering their love for painting or remembering a song they loved as a teenager. It's pretty special stuff.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE help me support this brilliant cause and the people it helps on a daily basis, in any way you can.

And if you're really feeling kind, I'd bloody love some cheers and high fives en route to get me to mile 26...

because I'm not really built like Paula!
