The College of Natural and Health Sciences provides an immersive experience for UNC students studying in the fields of natural, health, human and mathematical sciences. Our students benefit from mentoring by faculty who are experts in their fields and meaningful research opportunities in state-of-the-art facilities.  

The NHS Student Research Fund provides critical funding for student-led research activities. Students apply for up to $500 awards through a competitive proposal process that happens twice per year.  Students use these funds to support their research activities, including but not limited to: 

• Purchasing materials, equipment, and supplies for their project  

• Access to technologies or information needed for the research project 

• Conferences for research purposes or to present their findings and gain valuable professional experiences
