Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In lieu of a leisurely relaxing cycle through France and Spain this year, I am cycling around the whole of the UK and Ireland over a two week period in aid of Dogs Trust.

Starting from home (just down from London) on 17 September, I will visit London, Edinburgh, Belfast, Dublin, Cardiff and then back to London (and home) for a finish on 1 October.

If you have ever wondered what it would feel like to be a bald, slightly overweight, arthritic man cycling for 14 days straight, staying in the cheapest hotels and surviving on sweets, cake and takeaways, then you are in luck as I will be posting a daily blog which you can access here (you will have to cut-and-paste as I cannot figure out how to add hyperlink):

My photos will be on Instagram: @bigphilmcdermott

The Dogs Trust are a worthy cause and this cycle will not be like wearing a jumper, growing a moustache or baking a cake, it will involve around 1,100 miles of cycling (the equivalent distance of cycling from London to Rome).

Dogs Trust is the largest dog welfare charity in the UK. We rescue and rehome dogs all over the UK (Ireland too). We never put a healthy dog down. We also promote responsible dog ownership through youth education, neutering and microchipping campaigns. A dog is for Life, not just for Christmas ©
