Story
6 months ago, I couldn't even run up the stairs... now I'm signed up for The London Marathon
This time last year, the thought of heading outside and pounding the streets, or circling laps of the local park, wasn’t one that seemed enjoyable. By lockdown 3.0, I’d baked enough banana bread to feed an entire village, I’d completed Netflix and I was pretty much Zoom-quizzed out. What else was there to do? So, I bought myself a new pair of trainers and off I went. 🏃♀️
It’s safe to say, I caught the running bug.
The London Marathon is going to be a huge challenge, but it's all for a great cause - to raise vital funds for Task Brasil.
During the pandemic ,Task Brasil have continued their invaluable role in addressing the needs of their beneficiaries and families to overcome fears, prevent hunger and assist, identify and manage domestic abuse, neglect, mental issues etc.
Task Brasil distribute 10kg packages of food, cleaning and hygiene products weekly to families living in overcrowded households and favelas. They run socio-educational projects for disadvantaged children complementing their school hours for better future prospects.
I am extremely grateful for all the support I have received so far since the start of my running chapter and I really do appreciate any donations towards this worthy cause, no matter how big or small.
Roll on training 🏃♀️ 💪🏼
