Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

BIG DUCK - the largest duck in Europe has lived in Wargrave since 2017, spending a lot of time at the Henley On Thames regattas and festivals.

The 1981 Penlee lifeboat disaster has always been close to my heart as I was there when it happened, and witnessed the devastation caused to a small community just one week before christmas.

BIG DUCK and I want to help raise money and awareness for the brave volunteers who put their lives on the line to keep the UKs seas and waterways safe.  If you take a flight, a ferry, or just a walk on the beach, you may one day need there help.

On the 15th June 2019 BIG DUCK leaves Wargrave on his epic voyage to Lechlade.  Ducking 43 bridges, 23 of which are lower than the height of BIG DUCK, so its going to be a challenge, especially with the lowest bridge measuring at a height of a mere 7 feet 6 inches.

From Lechlade BIG DUCK will then voyage all the way to Teddington, taking the total number of bridges ducked up to 154, to finally finish at the Henley On Thames Festival.  With a final appearance at the Wargrave and Shiplake Regatta on the 10th of August 2019.

Whether its £5, £10, £20 or more, the RNLI, BIG DUCK and myself will appreciate every pound raised.
