We provide mental health treatment to veterans from every service and conflict

Story

We understand that raising awareness of mental health conditions is just as important as physical ones. Just because they are not visible, it doesn’t make them any less damaging to an individual. That’s why we are proud to support Combat Stress, the UK’s leading charity for veterans mental health, who provide support for all ex-servicemen and women, who are facing difficult situations.

Combat Stress has helped former servicemen and women deal with issues such as trauma, anxiety, depression and post-traumatic stress disorder, for almost a century now. And to this day, the charity provides personalised help to veterans from every service and every conflict: on the phone, online, in the community and at various treatment centres.

Combat Stress offers a range of treatment programmes, therapies and support delivered by specialist therapists and clinicians. They also have a 24-hour helpline on-hand to provide confidential mental health advice to all current and former military personnel as well as families and carers, so they are always available to provide specialist help when it’s needed the most. And Combat Stress do this all free of charge to veterans.

So, we decided we wanted to give something back to the charity that does so much for individuals in genuine need. From now on, throughout the entirety of 2018, we will be raising money to support the charity and the phenomenal work that they do for all veterans.

For every boiler we fit, we will donate £20, in a bid to raise at least £6,000 for Combat Stress, who are thoroughly deserving of it and more.

We want to support the veterans charity as within the company, we have recruited engineers who are ex-forces. We have provided them with a stable career to progress in and develop their skillset, and we see on a daily-basis how hard-working and dedicated they are. Additionally, the Director of Boiler Care 24/7, Alastair Barton, has immediate family who were in the forces, his Father and Grandpa, so it has a personal connection with him and the company.

In a bid to raise over £6,000 we will be conducting a charity bike ride, where volunteers will ride the equivalent of over a 1600 miles, in aid to raise funds for this great cause. For this, we will rely solely on your generosity and donations to help reach our target, so if you could spare any amount to donate, we and Combat Stress will thank you eternally.
