The beautiful woman in the photo with me is Bernadette my partner and soul mate, on the 4th July 2017 she was diagnosed with Inflamatory Breast Cancer and since that date she has been on a roller coaster but the care she has received on her visits to the Victoria Breast Care Unit at Oldham Hospital has been brilliant. She finished Chemotherapy on the 13th December having attended this unit for her Chemotherapy for 4 months and we wanted to do something to help them support other ladies in the same position.
Garry ran the Great North Run on the 10th September 2017 in aid of this fantastic unit and also ran another 12 races before the end of 2017 in aid of this unit.
Bernadette was declared cancer free in February but sadly the cancer returned and she lost her fight on the 29th July 2018. She fought until the end and even managed to marry me on the 26th July, bravely getting out of her wheel chair to walk down the aisle making me bust in to tears in the process.
So if you could spare a few quid in mmory of Bernadette it would be very much appreciated and every penny you donate will go to the Victoria Unit, to help other ladies beat this terrible disease and Bernadette's battle will not have been in vain.
