University of California studied the link between entrepreneurship and mental illness and as marketing entrepreneurs and professionals we can verify this. It is a hard and often lonely journey to create a business from scratch and if failure happens to darken your door then the effects can be felt quite harshly. The researchers study found that 49% of entrepreneurs and business owners surveyed were dealing with at least one mental illness (such as ADD, ADHD, bipolar disorder, addiction, depression, or anxiety) and about one third of entrepreneurs struggle with 2 or more mental illnesses.
