As an Asian woman venturing through my own breast cancer journey in 2018, I discovered unusually high mortality rates that shroud this community on a worldwide stage.  At the time of shooting the ‘Lifting the Veil’ campaign, I had gone through 5 months of chemotherapy, followed by major surgery and will go on to complete radiotherapy and a further six months of chemo by mid 2019.
www.breastcancersmiles.com has a two-fold existence. First, it’s about sharing the positive attitude with which I travel through my journey.  Second to fundraise and help increase the global survival rate of breast cancer patients though early detection and presentation.  The campaign aims to de-stigmatise breast cancer which elevates mortality rates within the global Asian community.
