Last year, Ellen's father, Brian's father and mother-in-law were diagnosed with cancer and thankfully they all received the necessary treatment and positive outcome to continue to lead healthy lives. We are extremely thankful as so many people we know unfortunately lose their battle with cancer. As a way of giving back a small token of our gratitude, we have challenged each other to put on the running shoes and pound the streets for 42km to raise funds for a great charity cause.
With a 20 year age gap between us, it will be more than just a physical challenge to see if age and experience can out-run youth! This will be Ellen's first marathon having only started running less than 1 year ago and Brian's fourth attempt albeit with 13 more years on the chassis since his last attempt!
We've committed to put in the training (estimated distance of at least 900km each between May and November) so you don't have to - so please support a great cause. As we are funding our own costs for this challenge, 100% of your donation will go to the Irish Cancer Society.
