Story
Running a marathon has been an elusive goal for me. This is the year where it all fell into place. London is a special city for me -- it is where I met Kate and began a wonderful journey with her. It was the natural choice for my first (and likely only) marathon!
Last October, while in London, I experienced a medical condition that temporarily (we discovered with great medical care) rendered me unable to see properly. It was quite terrifying as I was on my own and struggled getting around our flat. As the situation progressed, I was able to use an eye patch to improve my mobility. With treatment my vision returned to normal in a few months and I have been fine since.
This time with impaired vision highlighted the struggles that many others face and I realized that I wanted to help in some way. RNIB is comprised of an outstanding group of individuals who strive to support people with vision impairments in many ways. They support research, provide direct assistance, assist with hardware, develop and deliver education, and many more activities. Their aim is to create a society without barriers for people with sight loss.
I hope you will consider sponsoring me as I raise money (and run London!) for the RNIB. Thanks in advance for your support and I will match the first £10k of your donations to double our impact!
Now back to the training runs ...
