My name is Charlie Thompson and I am a former soldier and now currently an operational Firefighter from Greater Manchester based at Farnworth Community Fire Station.

I am aiming to set a Guinness World Record Attempt with the goal to raise funds and awareness for 2 amazing causes.

My record attempt is to set the Furthest Distance in Full Fire Kit including Fire Boots whilst carrying 22kgs of Breathing Apparatus within 24hrs from the most northern fire station in Nottinghamshire (Howarth Fire Station) to the most southern station in Greater Manchester (Cheadle FireStation) to raise funds for The Fire Fighters Charity which brings help and support to those within the fire service community both colleagues and their families.

This challenge is also in respect and loving memory of a very close family friend Henry Jennings who sadly passed away on New Years Day 2021. He was a very giving young man and would have walked beside me if he could.
