Two years ago we completed a London to Paris bike ride and Chris' aim was to do it himself, starting with a local ride, ie The Manchester 100k Bike Ride.

Sadly, Chris passed away on May 6th and never actually got the opportunity to take part in either ride.

In memory of Chris, his friends and family have decided to do the ride and tagged it as "Pedale Pour Pughy", with a cycling "club" name of "A Bunch Of Helmets".

So far "the Helmets" are up to 35 confirmed members and they are, Christine, Cameron, Steve, Paula and Jade Webb, Karen and Gary Hall, Jackie and John Casey, Soulla Hunt, Helen Mottershead, Bev McAuley, Sean, Tracey and Jasmine Moore, Mike and Jan Emerton, Mike Kilburn, Arthur Little, Dave Waters, Jo and Paul Gibson, Audrey Henshaw, Dean McMullan, Yassa (Paul Shawcross), Danny Mehta,  Ade Bicker, Dave Ellis, Gary and Judith Dewsbury,Tina Lacey, Paul and Connor Wooley, Steve Swindells,Mickey Haughton, Elwyn snd Ben Pugh snd Spencer and Tom Corbett, with the target of 30 - 40 riders by the time the ride comes round on September 13th.

Strict dietary regimes have been adhered to !!!!, as well as regular Thursday evening and Sunday morning club runs being organised - that bits true.

Any and every financial donation is greatly appreciated, as well as sudocrem, voltarol, chaffe buster cream and as many local free masseur sessions as possible.

Please help us reach our target and keep the memory and the cause going. As was witnessed at Pughy's funeral, he was an immensely popular bloke who would have been in his element doing this ride, more than likely charging off upfront and racing with the quickies or bellowing from the back for the stragglers to get a move on.
