The thought of dying is scary enough but the thought of dying alone, without family or friends present, is almost unthinkable. Unfortunately, this is a fate that awaits many terminally ill patients across the country.

The Palliative Care Teams Volunteer Led Butterfly Project fills that gap at the Lister Hospital where, before the projects inception, it was estimated that 15 people a month were dying alone. Our wonderful volunteers, a majority with an end-of-life/ Hospice background, provide priceless emotional support to patients and families.

The Charity is fundraising towards the cost of a Volunteer Co-Ordinator who will be able to help expand our volunteering base and ensure the Project delivers 2,000 visits in the next twelve months; all proceeds from this page will go to this exact purpose.
