Thanks for taking the time to visit my Just Giving page.

POSTPONNED UNTILL 2023 to coincide with the year of my 70th Birthday

To be honest I cycle because I love it but....

I entered a sponsored even in aid of Parkinson's UK in 2019 which was cancelled. I entered the event because my Mum has been diagnosed with Parkinson's and I see the effect on her and more importantly how brave and determined she is. I now know where I get my bloody mindedness from and why if I say I will finish a bike ride or get up a hill on my bike without walking I do.

MY INTENTION IS TO 'EVEREST' or TO REPEATEDLY RIDE UP A CLIMB THEN DOWN THE SAME WAY THEN REPEAT WITHOUT GETTING ANY RUN UP AT THE BOTTOM, IN ONE GO WITHOUT SLEEP.

I have chosen Askwith Hill 1.33 miles long 453 feet of climbing at an average gradient of 6.5%. To do 29,029 feet (Height of Everest) I need to do the climb 65 times or 172 miles. I have no idea if I am capable of doing this either physically or mentally which is why I have chosen this challenge for my sponsored ride. I am not asking to be sponsored for doing something I enjoy I am asking to be sponsored for doing something that will test me to the limit in preparation and during the ride.

Anyone can get Parkinson’s. It gets worse over time and there’s no cure. Yet. Funding research into the most promising treatments, we’re getting closer to a cure. Until then, we're improving life for people with Parkinson’s, and the people in their lives. Together we'll find a cure.
