We give our patients outstanding care to help them make the best of every moment

Story

Please sponsor me as I plan to climb the tallest mountain in the British Isles, Ben Nevis. With a gradient of over 4000 feet high, Ben Nevis lies by the town of Fort William in Scotland and entails a gruelling day of walking to conquer its craggy and unforgiving terrain. I plan to climb it this summer on the weekend of August 10th and hopefully finish the hike within 9 hours. In preparation I will be undergoing training, building up my endurance and stamina in order to complete this challenge!

All the money I raise will go to the Royal Trinity Hospice
who provide skilled compassionate care for over 2000 patients a year suffering from life-limiting illnesses. Only a quarter of the funding is provided by the NHS, therefore the charity heavily relies on donations and voluntary aid to continue to provide the amazing work they do.

Last year, my mother who was diagnosed with breast Cancer
was a patient at the hospice located on Clapham Common in South London. After being transferred there from hospital, she was given her own private room and bathroom, which had a balcony looking over onto the beautifully designed garden
that was tended to by volunteers. Although my siblings and I wanted her to come home, to have her nearby at this calm and comfortable place where the nurses were friendly was a great reassurance to us. In her last days camp beds were provided so we could stay the night with her, small details like these meant a lot to us and we still cherish these last moments we had with our amazing mother.

About the charity

We believe every moment matters so we go above and beyond to help our patients and their families make the most of every moment they have left. All our services are free of charge. We receive a 26% of our funding from the NHS and rely on donations to raise the extra £12m we need each year.
