Story
We will be hosting a charity football tournament to raise funds for Great Lakes Outreach. Great Lakes Outreach (GLO http://www.greatlakesoutreach.org/ ) is a Burundi based charity,
established by Simon Guillebaud, a former Caldicotian, who went on to Harrow and has recently been awarded an MBE for his charitable work. GLO is a Christian organisation which Simon set up as a missionary, over twenty years ago. GLO has done the most amazing work in disadvantaged communities in Burundi, one of the world’s poorest nations
The tournament will take place in our Sports Hall on Friday and will involve every boy in the school. Day boys will play their tournament during the allocated games session and the boarder’s tournament will run during prep.
We would ask that all boys raise sponsorship of £5 to participate in the tournament. They can choose to raise the money in whatever way they wish. A competition will be held to award boys who come up with the most inspiring way of raising money. Sponsorship forms will be given to boys.
We will also be running a ‘keepy-uppy’ competition and boys can enter this by raising an additional £2 of sponsorship money. There will be a prize for the boy who achieves them most ‘keepy-uppys’ in each year group.
All boys will be expected to participate and those off games will be allocated a job to do on the day.
There will be a fathers vs Staff/old boys tournament in the evening 1900-2030. If you are interested in playing in this tournament then please do contact me directly jkd@caldicott.com
We feel that this will be a fantastic, and very fun, way to support Great Lakes Outreach and welcome your support.
Kind regards,
Ma’am Duncan
