My wife Carolyn, or "Cally" to so many, was a passionate primary school teacher with a deep love for the children who struggled to cope with mainstream schooling. She went out of her way to make them feel special and get the most out of school.

Autism was a particular interest of hers and she spent much time researching how to give children affected by this condition the best start to their school life.
