We help and support people with vasculitis to improve outcomes for vasculitis patients

Story

This is my Sister Hannah. As well as being very annoying (e.g she can't even send me a photo without using some ridiculous filter), she is also suffering from a rare auto immune disease called Granulomatosis with polyangiitis (GPA). In essence, her body is attacking itself and she is forced to live her life in constant pain. Unfortunately she is in her 3rd relapse of the disease. All the treatment options have tried and failed and the future is looking bleak for her and her family. She has been told many times by medical professionals that 'you would have so many more options if you had cancer'. As GPA is so rare and in many cases patients respond well to treatment, there is very little research or funding available for research. If you are interested in knowing more about the disease, have a look on www.vasculitis.org.uk (you will be surprised how little information is available - again a consequence of how under invested treatment of this disease is.)

I have decided therefore to do the 3 peaks challenge in July to try and raise some money to support the charity Vasculitis UK who support this type of disease (Yes, GPA is so rare, it doesn't even have its own charity!) I will attempt to scale Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Mt Snowdon in a 24 hour period. Although this is a well trodden path, it'll be a massive challenge for me. I'm fat and unfit, don't like walking and I love my sleep!! I know that fundraising requests are increasingly common, but if you would like to donate to this cause, I would be hugely grateful.
